The coffee house culture is thriving in the desert, but rarely do you get a chance to sample good brew and great sounds.

Tonight is one of those rare opportunities. Kimberlee, a Los Angeles singer-songwriter whose powerful, soulful voice was called by the Los Angeles Times "a combination of Macy Gray and Natalie Merchant with a dash of Ani DiFranco," performs with her band at 8 tonight at Crossroads Tavern and Café in Joshua Tree.
